Situated in Eaglescliffe, 1 mile from Yarm, 3 miles from Stockton on Tees and 5 miles from Middlesbrough, Glenfield Nursery school is a large, converted, detached Victorian house with large rooms on several floors where the children are cared for by fully qualified staff. Children are moved up through the classes according to their individual stage of development as well as their age. There is also a very well equipped outdoor play area ideal for physical activities and a break from the classrooms; this can be used all year round, giving children the opportunity to explore and investigate their environment throughout the changing seasons.
We are ideally placed for quick access to both the A66 and A19. Eaglesliffe Railway Station is at the end of the road, a few minutes walk away, and there is also a regular bus service which runs along Yarm Road (Stockton to Yarm via Eaglescliffe on the 7 and 7a Bus Route).
Glenfield Nursery School is run by Jean Brown who has over 35 years experience in caring for the welfare, learning and development of children.

This is an extremely large and spacious room giving babies the opportunity to explore their environment in a spacious, stimulating and comfortable environment.
There is a wisdom of opportunity available to all our babies to ensure their development.
Over the years our experience has taught us that babies settle into nursery very quickly and develop more rapidly as opposed to coming in at the toddler stage of development.
By 18 months the babies have become 'toddlers', developing their independence and we provide stimulation through learning and play. Children rapidly gain confidence within this safe and invigorating environment.
We continue to provide a stimulating environment for our 2 year olds. The children have the opportunity to take part in daily 'group activities' alongside making independent choices for play and learning.
The Library - we have our very own Library, where children take turns in being the 'Librarian'. We place great importance on the value of books and children love their visits to the Library. We also make trips to the local community Library.
Our pre-school section from 3 years consists of a superb, mature programme of learning of 25 years standing an it is still working today. We employ qualified teachers in English, French and Dance and Drama which alongside our early years programme of letter and sounds, ensures that children leave Glenfield Nursery School with a wide knowledge of letters and that they are also capable of writing their own names in full. They are given the opportunity to take part in activities to further develop their writing skills, recognition of numbers, letters, shapes and are able to read simple words.
This is where our Wraparound children take part in a wide variety of exciting activities and have the opportunity to do their homework.
