I am my mothers daughter (late Proprietor Mrs Jean Hope Brown) and am carrying the legacy of Glenfield Nursery School forward. As a child I always observed and was inspired by my Mother’s passion and the importance of childcare and grew up in the knowledge of this by always helping in the Nursery during my school holidays. I now consider it an honour and privilege to enable the Glenfield Family to continue and work with such dedicated and enthusiastic staff.
I am a qualified Registered General Nurse with a background of experience in Neonatal and Adult Intensive Care, and also in the Theatre Recovery Department nursing from baby to adult years following surgery. I also have experience in Palliative Care, as a Nurse Specialist (Lymphoedema) and Nurse Manager within Palliative Care.
I have worked using my skills in Nursing overseas and always enjoyed working with different Nationalities. By nature, I am adventurous and enjoy foreign travel. I love to meet people from different cultures and backgrounds
I first began working at Glenfield in 1991, as a Nursery Nurse, working my way up to Manager, Principal/Teacher, taking over the role of the late, inspirational, Jean Brown. It is a privilege to work at Glenfield, although I’m based within Little Lambs, I am aware of every child’s individual needs within the nursery and will do everything to meet them.
My passion is ensuring children with additional needs are included and supported within our environment. I love to cook our children homely meals support staff in their decisions and professional development updates. It has also been a privilege to hear about how well the children who have left the Glenfield family are doing.
My main responsibility is to ensure that all children are safeguarded. Also to encourage and support all staff members to keep up to date and support them in their professional development.
Hello my name is Kayleigh and I am the deputy manager and I also work in the baby room. I started working at Glenfield in September 2019. I have worked in childcare now for over 10 years and have gained knowledge and experiences working in different settings. I have worked with all ages from 4 months to 8 years. I volunteered in a school setting for a year working with children with autism.
I have also worked with many SEN children with a range of additional needs within nursery settings. I love my job!
